The Architecture
"When a home has this much presence, the design has to rise to meet it."
The Appling home is defined by its soaring double-height foyer, open-riser staircase, and panoramic windows that flood every level with natural light. The holiday brief was clear: honor the architecture without competing with it.
The Garland
Draped from entry to loft.
The staircase garland was the centerpiece — a lush, hand-styled run of frosted pine, eucalyptus, white ornaments, and oversized pine cones, wired with warm twinkle lights that glow against the dark oak treads. The same garland language continued along the upper balcony railing, creating a continuous holiday narrative from the moment you step through the door to the top of the stairs.
The Loft
"Every room told the same story — just in a different voice."
The upper loft and main living areas were styled with a lighter touch: silver mercury glass trees, gold deer snow globes lined in a row, and a tray of ornaments on the coffee table. Nothing overwrought. Everything intentional.
The Details
The gold deer snow globes — five in a line on the media console — became the quiet signature of this installation. A detail that rewards a second look.
The Kitchen
Restraint as a design choice.
In the kitchen, a single marble planter filled with frosted mini trees and silver ornaments sat against the sculptural stone backsplash. No garland, no excess. Just one perfectly placed vignette that let the architecture speak.
The Dining Room
Where the home breathes.
The dining room needed nothing added. The bubble chandelier, the abstract canvas, the wine rack beyond — the space was already composed. A simple coral centerpiece bowl on the reclaimed wood table completed the picture. Holiday without the holiday.
The Result
A home that felt completely itself, just dressed for the season.
